Fernhamme Confederation League Cup Winners!

SOUTH Farnham footballers have been celebrating this week after winning the Fernhamme Confederation League Cup.

The prestigious annual tournament, played by 13 local schools since 1974, involved a wealth of talented young footballers playing competitive matches over three months.

More than 30 Year Six children at South Farnham School were involved in this season’s matches, helping to place the school at the top of the local league.

The group also produced a win in this year’s Salesian Trophy tournament in September.

Led by Year Five teacher and football squad coach Hannah Lovelock, the team have trained in all weather conditions and are proud of their achievement.

“We have been out in the cold weather, wind and rain practising each week and the children have shown tenacity and enthusiasm in their bid to win the cup,” Miss Lovelock explained.

“The winning team is a mixed group of boys and girls and it is amazing to see their football skills and teamwork grow. Everyone at South Farnham School is incredibly proud of them all.”
