Thirdly, a solution is reached and everything is wrapped up by the end of the magical story.

To know what plants need to grow and go on a plant hunt.
Have a go at planting your own plant with soil and water. If you do not have access to these resources, you could grow cress seeds on a piece of tissue with water or be in charge of watering the plants in the garden/house. Discuss that plants need water and sunlight in order to grow. Go outside/around the house and find lots of plants (trees, flowers, bushes etc.). Discuss what they all are. Ask your child to choose their favourite plant that they have actually seen on their plant hunt and draw it (on plain paper) with descriptive labels. Can you research the specific plant and write down some other key facts underneath the labelled drawing? On another walk this week, consider the season of summer and the different senses. What can you smell, see, feel and hear? As an extension, what tastes would you associate with summer? For example, strawberries are a seasonal summer fruit, which are strongly associated with the Wimbledon Tennis Championships – always held in the heart of the summer.
Ensure plenty of description with adjectives as well as the correct usage of capital letters and full stops in your neatest handwriting. |

Religious Education
|
To understand that Christians meet together in a Church.
Explain to children that Christians go to Church every Sunday to worship God as well as on special Holidays like Easter and Christmas. Christians might also attend Church if they are part of the Choir or other clubs that run there. Christians meet there to meet people like themselves. Ask children to think about places they go to meet/spend time with people like themselves, e.g. football club, dance club, drama etc. Children are to draw a picture of somewhere they go to meet people interested in the same things as them. Children are to write about this under the picture.

Geography
|
To explore a country.
Children will explore a country in North or Central America. This can be any country of particular interest. They will have the opportunity to create a detailed information page about their nation of choice. In the top right hand corner, they can begin by colouring in an accurate representation of their country’s national flag. In essence, it is a research project which can be done with the support of an Atlas, map and computer. At the foot of the page, there are three lines to include some other amazing facts about their chosen country.
Ensure accurate spelling, punctuation and grammar as well as neatest handwriting and presentation. |
