Children to choose a cuddly toy that they are going to take on holiday. Explain that the cuddly toy is going to two places: Spain and Norway. Encourage you child to find these places on a map. Ask your child to think about what the weather may be like in these countries. What clothes might the cuddly toy need to take to each place? Talk about what the toy may need to go on holiday. Eg- passport and luggage labels. Child to fill out passport template for their cuddly toy. |

This term your child will be looking at sewing and weaving. In this session your child will think about how they can put two fabrics together. Ask your child how they think they could do that. Show your child using a piece of card with holes in it and wool how they can make simple stitches. Allow your child to practice using the wool to make a simple running stitch, going in and out of the cardboard. Talk about how you start and finish stitching by teaching your child to do a simple knot to start and finish. |
